A conference for the builders and players.
Parallax is a two-day indie game developer conference and public expo in Boise, Idaho. We built it because we wanted an accessible space for everyone who believes the people making independent games deserve a place to gather, share what they've learned, and celebrate what they've built.
The show floor is open to everyone. Come play games that haven't shipped yet, meet the developers behind them, and see what's being made in the indie game scene. If you're a developer, there are sessions to expand your skills, cool people to meet, and a community that understands the challenges and joys of indie game development.

We are committed to making Parallax a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socioeconomic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
This Code of Conduct applies to all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and vendors at Parallax, and to all associated spaces, including the show floor, talks and panels, workshops, official after-parties or social events, and our online spaces (mailing list, social media, Discord/community channels, if applicable).
Expected Behavior
- Treat all attendees, speakers, staff, and volunteers with respect and consideration.
- Communicate openly and thoughtfully with others, being mindful of your surroundings and fellow participants.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
- Respect the rules and policies of the Galaxy Event Center and any venue space we use.

- Respect the boundaries of other attendees, including with respect to photography, physical contact, and personal space.
Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Harassment of any kind, including offensive verbal comments related to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or any other protected characteristic.
- Sexual harassment, including unwelcome sexual attention, comments, or advances.
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
- Harassing photography or recording, including capturing images of attendees without consent, particularly in ways intended to demean or embarrass.
- Sustained disruption of talks, panels, workshops, or other events.
- Inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome touching.
- Threatening or violent behavior or language directed against another person.
- Discriminatory jokes and language, and displaying discriminatory or sexually explicit images or material in public spaces (including on booths, apparel, or presentation slides).
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behavior.
Booths, exhibits, and presentations (including games and demo content shown at the expo) should be appropriate for a general audience and should not include content that violates this policy. If your game or presentation contains mature content, please flag this clearly so attendees can make informed choices.
Reporting
If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify event staff as soon as possible. You can do so by:
- Approaching any staff member or volunteer wearing event identification.
- Visiting the event information/help desk on site.
- Emailing parallax@logicbymagic.com (monitored during and after the event).
When reporting, please include as much detail as you're comfortable sharing: your name (or contact info, if you'd like a follow-up), the names or descriptions of those involved, the time and location of the incident, and a description of what happened. Reports can be made anonymously if preferred, though this may limit our ability to follow up or take action.
All reports will be handled with discretion. We will not name harassment reporters without their consent.
Enforcement
Event staff will be available throughout Parallax and can be identified by Parallax shirts and Staff badges. Staff are empowered to take any action necessary to keep Parallax a safe environment, including:
- Warning the offender.
- Requiring the offender to cease the behavior and have no further contact with the reporting party for the remainder of the event.
- Removing the offender from the event without a refund.
- Barring the offender from future Parallax events.
- Contacting venue security or local law enforcement, where warranted.
Logic By Magic, LLC reserves the right to take whatever action it deems appropriate, including immediate removal from the event, for any behavior it determines to be inappropriate, including behavior not explicitly listed above.
If a member of event staff is the subject of your complaint, your report will be handled by another member of the Logic By Magic team, so that no one investigates a complaint against themselves.
Retaliation
Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith, or who cooperates with an investigation, will not be tolerated and may itself result in removal from the event.
Scope Beyond the Show Floor
This Code of Conduct also applies to official Parallax social media accounts, our mailing list, and any official online community spaces. Harassment or abuse directed at attendees, speakers, or staff through these channels in connection with Parallax will be treated the same as on-site conduct.
